The name of urna come upon seeking a name for this blog. I ‘m thinking to look at the life with love and wisdom. So, I try a much easier to remember term called thirdeye.wordpress.com, but it was taken. So I used some Buddhist term called Urna. Urna is a concave circular dot - manifested on the forehead between the eyebrows.
It is often found on the 2nd and 3rd Century sculptures of the Buddha and Bodhisattvas. Sometimes it is represented with a jewel.
Urna is the 31st physical characteristic of Buddha. It symbolizes and radiates wisdom. It is also a symbol for a third eye, which represents the power to emit a beam of light and illuminate the world.
My blogging topics will be on Buddhism, global warming, climate change, water scarcity, debt based monetory system, etc.
I hope this blog could be like urna, to radiate wisdom and love to the world.

Hello, my very gentle, musically/artistically/academically-gifted, and well-behaved 16-year-old son has a urna. He has a whorl on his forehead. Facing him, the observer sees it as a clockwise spiral.
He also has a double crown, 2 whorls, at the top-rear of his head of hair. His right one is clockwise and his left one counterclockwise.
What would this mean, if anything??? He’s had these since birth (plus a cowlick on the frontal line between his hair an forehead). Of course, he only let’s me cut his hair.

Sandra,
The Buddha heart is in everybody mind, just covered by the dirt and everyone need to purify the heart. Your kids is perfectly normal to have a whorl on his forehead, this doesn’t mean anything.
